Flash help? any guru outthere?

Journal Entry: Sun Feb 24, 2013, 7:15 AM
Huzzah!

HI There again!
I am presently making some very detailed puppets for our Children of the Night Project.

Initially, we used a different technique than the usual one and we did not have puppets, but for the harderst scenes we definitely need some.

So, I am with Luna now, and after making about 200 new symbols in Flash I have spotted a need.

Do you know, by a chance, if there is a way in this world, be a script,  or whatever, of setting the Flash properties for the graphics to SINGLE FRAME by default?

If you are used to quarrel with this software, you probably know what I am talking about. Because we you are creating symbols like mad, and  our Lulu has a lot of functionality inside, and you forget to set it to single frame... it is irritating after the 100th time.

IF this doesnīt exist, it so needs to be invented.

Major power outage.. recalling scout times

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 12, 2013, 1:31 PM
Huzzah!

HI There again!

On Friday we had a huge snowstorm in our area. About 60 cm of snow, winds of 110km/h and all that comes with it, including an 8 hour power outage.

Having no power brings several problems with it.  And one is that you can't cook or heat anything unless you have a wood stove or a generator at home. So we improvised a solution  with whatever resources we had in the kitchen .

[link]

I am not very fond of telling anything about my personal life in my journal, but this might help someone who gets stuck in the same situation . We roasted weenies, toasted bread, and heated soup and coffee in that thing. It helped a lot since the house was getting cold, and all businesses were closed due to the storm.

It might end up in the "thereIfixedit" blog (it is not exactly fancy),  BUT!  in the time of need, it really helped.  BTW, neither the casserole or the bowls got burnt at all.

Tower of Time, Ink artists wanted

Journal Entry: Sat Dec 15, 2012, 11:44 AM
Huzzah!

HI There again!

Phase 1 of the "Tower of Time" project is about to be completed, so we are entering phase 2,  sketch and design.

You can check the official BLOG here.
[link]

I am very proud to announce the names of the drawing team:

:iconanima-dos: directing and drawing directly with Stepi

:iconstepandy: professional  published Italian comic arist.  Well formed in comics, in digital and classic media in the Italian comic academy.

and :iconequestria-prevails:   a great artist, well known in the Brony community, with an impecable draftmanship  and a unique feeling that come from his works.

There might be a surprise fourth member, but no confirmation has been received yet, so I won-t spoil the mystery.

I want to look a bit forward on the project and complete the crew list ASAP.

WE NEED DIGITAL INKING ARTISTS ON BOARD. The Inking team will receive  a demo video  that will explain the procedure , with specific instructions given by Stepanda, and recorded by me.  The inking will start in about 10 days from now.

If you are great at cleaning up, and you want to join the team, please, send me a note through DEviantart , linking a couple of samples of your work if possible.

We also are looking for a COLOR artist that will work directly with me. The color arist will receive an exclusive set of tools crafted by myself to accelerate the process, and probably a demo video as well, to learn how to use them.

Remember that this project is for educational purposes only  (for the teammembers) and non profit will be ever made from it.

The Team has been assembled

Journal Entry: Thu Dec 13, 2012, 1:37 PM
Huzzah!

Hi there!

HI There again!

If you wish to have more information about the project, check the official blog

[link]

I am very surprised about how many people contacted me last night, in order to join the writing team.

First of all I want to give a great "Thank you" to everybody who applied.

I wish I could have everyone, but for the sake of the project, I had to make a selection.  You know , if you have too many cooks, the cake won't ever get baked.. and nag , nag, nag

So, I proudly present you the four Team Members:

:iconanima-dos:
Director of the project.

:iconstarimo:

Starimo has years of experience in fanfic writting. Her stories are  balanced and well crafted. SHe has full knowledge of every MLP detail that has to be known.

:iconstardragon77:

Stardragon is a professional writer, and has exepertise in the fandom of Dr. Who.

:iconeva-emaria:

BA in English, and formed in professional screenplay writting.

So here we are!  The script phase looks very promising. Experience is not an asset that we lack in this gathering, so  now, if you excuse me, I shall roll up my sleeves and get to work.

I have a loooot to organize.

Looking for someone to review a short script

Huzzah!

Hi there!

As I announced some time ago.  A very , very short, but very fun project is about to be started by the team who are making Children of the Night.

Only that this time it is intended to be a community project.

So far, our team is composed by Lion, myself, and Stepanda, a wonderful comic artist from Italy.

We are presently looking for somepony that will help us review our script, and polish it as much as we can.

This person should preferabily have some writting background, and be very fluent in English. Note that this project is for learning purposes exclusively, so we don't have a budget.

The task is to review 9 pages of text.  If you are interested, please, Note me to my DA or send me an email to

yodevorogintonics@gmail.com

Sorry, I won't make wallpapers

Huzzah!

Hi there!
For sometime, I have been thinking about fullfilling the wallpaper requests for some of my pictures, but that is not possible.

I have been doing a little googling here and there, and  like I thought, there is a wide variety of aspect ratios for wallpaper, such as everybody has a different monitor.

1024x768
Width: 320
Height: 480
1980x1080

... and so on and on.

This would mean a lot of resizing and managing, and I  don't have time nor energy for that. The images are high res enough, so I leave the resizing for every individual that wishes to have the wallpaper.

Hi there!

I was very surprised when I found this video on youtube, and I thought that it would be a shame not to share it.

It is a voice over of all the comics that I did for the blog up to date. It was very fun to see the stories I made from that angle.

What good is Adobe Bridge?

Hi there fellas!

I am not the type of ranting in a journal, but recently, I have been switching to the cs6 suite for professional purposes,  and for most part, I absolutely love it.

Photoshop has improved big time (I am not just saying that,I really think so). The new 3d tools are saving my life and the new gaussian blur is.. *kisses the tips of her fingers* fantastic!

BUT! here is the catch. I can no longer preview my PSD files when I browse them from my archives.. and that is kinda of annoying. Apparently, the only way to preview now is to use Bridge or minibridge... which makes me wonder..

For what the heck is Bridge good for?

This is an honest question. Because I don't see the poit of Bridge, except that is a RAM eater. It has been always easier for me to browse my files directly from my hard drive.. so...

Do you use Bridge at all?  If so, for what?

Does it ring a bell?

Looking for a shortfilm...

Huzzah!

Hi there fellas!

I am working on something and I wanted to check some reference that I once fount on youtube.. but much to my surprise, I couldn't find it, even if I could have sworn that i faved it.

I don't remember the name at all, and I seem not to be able to find it on my own.. maybe you can help?

Here is a description:

It is a shortfilm in progress, of  a very nice quality. In there, we could see a little girl.. I think her name was Libby, in his family home.

Her brother was very mean to her , and her mother kinda strict.

There was a scene in the kitchen, in which his brother found out that the cookie jar was empty, made a drama in front of the mom, acused his sister of eating the cookies, and then Libby was sent to her room.  "I am weakening with hunger"...

In her room, she opened a toy chest, and a gigantic wolf popped from there.
Libby hugged him and started playing with the Wolf, and he reverted into a very tiny, very friendly form.  There were many illustration shots after that, and even a run cycle test of the Wolf done in full color.

Most of this done in pencil test.

Does it ring a bell?

Hi there fellas!

I am aware that you are all a bit surprised fromt he name change.
I appreciate the interest, but it is nothing you have to worry about.

I have been wanting to change the name for some time now, and I just took the step yesterday.

It is just a new step in the art path, and I will try to give it my best shot once again.

I am still Spirit! (which was the name that I initially wanted, since it is easier to spell, but unfortunately, it was taken)

For your curiosity!

Hello Everypony!

Today I received a note here through DA, and by the time I read the content and clicked the link, my jaw made a hole on the floor. For I got the biggest (and pleasing) surprise ever.

Someone made a song out of the picture "Tangled"

I think you should hear it for yourselves:

[link]

I really don't know what to say, because for me, this is beyond awesome. Usually, I listen to music and that brings images to my mind, which drives me intro drawing them .  Having music made out of one of my drawings is a dream come true, something that is completely out of my reach, as I am no musician,. so thank you SO  SO MUCH  :iconshadow-dragon-3d: for this. You really made my day, and probably my whole year.

Build a Discord microproject

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 28, 2012, 10:43 AM

For your curiosity!

Hello Everypony!

I am back! and here to propose you all a  fun microproject.

As you might know, pony Flash builds can easily be found online nowadays. There is a wonderful set of choices, mostly thanks to Flamingo and his Double rainboom project.

But... there is not a Discord puppet around the net to take rerence on!, and I think that we can fix that in two days.

Here is my proposition:

I need TWO collaborators that are willing to give it a shot and have some fun.

We will make a full Discord build in record time!  What is that? too fast , you say? not at all!    because truth is that .. I have the build half done already, so it will be a matter of completing it.

1)  I will be taking care of facial expressions and wings
2)  One of the collaborators will take care of the arms
3)  One will attack the legs.

As a bonus for whoever decides to give me a hand, I will feature them in the Heaven's light credits in the title of Character building crew.

The build will be published here on my DA page as an open resource for all the wonderful FIM animators that populate the net.

So, Do you wanna join the Discord team?

Then trow me a note or a comment on this journal with a sample of your work (related to making Flash rigs, that is). We will be working with a Flash cs5 file and  we are not just vectoring, but making a puppet

Once I get to review your work, I will get you the reference you need, a "to do" list  and the basic build.  Once you complete that small "to do", all you have to do is shoot the build back to me and I will put all the pieces together.
