A whole film about that song and nobody pictured Ariel under the sky.

Well, now here it is.

I posted this deviation to give you a proof of 2009 work quality.

Soon you will find an Ariel tutorial in my gallery. This character is exceptionally good for practicing structures and poses.

I used the original set of colors from the film to color both characters.

You know what I love about this... it is literally titled after the beautiful song that Triton sings for Ariel in the third movie, which is actually first. Lol. Beautiful! It literally looks like Disney work and I love it! ^^ Keep up the good work.

I normally plan my pictures ahead and look for a set of references. I may find those references in movies, illustrations, comics or whatever graphic material I can find that has something to do with what I planned for the picture.

I analyze and study every reference, until I figure out how it was painted, then I start to paint my own background with the techniques I learned from observation.
