Galloping Gala 2012, Applejackby *Anima-dos

Applejack's ensemble is probably the one that took me more elbow grease. I tested many possibilities of color and shape before coming up with a result that worked. Not girly, not Fru-fruy, not tomboy either and yet elegant and formal.

The name of this gawn is "New Frontier", giving a hint to "Appleloosa".

It is slightly apple themed in the hair ornaments and mostly represents the "wild west" and "Strong girl" idea. I made it to purposely let the back legs move and buck at she pleases,I believe that she would feel a lot better in formal attire if she would able to do that.

The colors and embroided details were based on Tornado, the horse from "El Zorro" the dark cloth of the gawn brings out the blond of the mane (which is styled to cover one eye) . The legs are ornamented, but also reinforced and protected. This gawn is meant to be elegant, but also practical.

You definitely got the wild west theme going there. Even better is the fact that the LACK of apples actually draws your attention to the few she has and as you said, the dark colors make her pale mane pop all the more. I imagine she argued against having her eye covered like that, but Rarity probably used the argument that Fluttershy operates just fine with only one good eye's worth of sight. Applejack would probably bring a lot of attention to herself for the simple fact of how non-fancy she looks being fancy, by the 'normal' standards. Her lack of long dress would also get a lot of attention by novelty alone.
